Important Tattoo Aftercare Tips

Tattoo aftercare is just as important — if not more — than the tattoo process itself. Until fully healed, a tattoo is not permanent, and improper healing can lead to unsatisfactory results. That's why we provide detailed aftercare steps to help your tattoo heal perfectly.

One common mistake is applying too much lotion without washing the tattoo first. While lotion helps, it can suffocate the area if overused, leading to infection. Always use a small amount and reapply after gently rinsing the tattoo. Avoid thick layers.

Do not submerge your tattoo in water. This means no swimming or soaking in bathtubs. Use a clean, damp cloth to gently pat the area clean, and ensure it's dried properly. Fragrance-free lotions and soaps are recommended to prevent irritation.

Fresh tattoos and sunlight do not mix. Avoid exposing your tattoo to direct sun, especially right after getting it. Sunburn and overheating can cause painful scabbing, poor healing, and damage the ink.
